West Park Arts Fest!!!

On June 8th I participated in my 2nd street fair. The West Park Arts Fest held in beautiful Fairmount Park near the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. This particular show was new to me since all my other shows have been indoors. I was accompanied by the Silver Griffon Designs Crew consisting of my sister, sister in law and my niece.

Now for those who have ever done a craft show knows that getting ready, packing and getting there can be quite a production. But I prevailed and was out the door at the requested time. We arrived at the park in plenty of time to relax take a deep breath and fight with getting up the tent. They lie when they say you can do a pop up tent by yourself!!!

We got the tent up and set up went smoothly and we were ready to rock and roll. The weather was beautiful. There was already people in the park even before it officially opened browsing the vendors. Which is a great sign in my opinion.

My set up for West Park Arts Fest

I did one show last year around Christmas time at the mall and I wasn't even set up stuff was everywhere. A lady was walking by and spotted my cats lantern. Asked me how much it was and what time would I be open. I told her the price and I am open now if she was interested in purchasing. She then said all she had was a credit card. I said not a problem whipped out my handy dandy credit card reader and we were in business. Sold my first item even before the show started. So even when your not set up you can still make sales!

My cat lantern Thanks Beryl for the inspiration!

Sorry I'm getting side tracked! The West Park Arts Fest show was  also special because I debuted my new logo and colors for my business. Which I had my friend /colleague and photographer Ramon Torres take pictures of my set up and product line.

My new banner love how it turned out!!

New business cards

So if you folks are looking for a photographer and you are in the Philadelphia area check him out. I am glad we were able to work together for this event and hopefully more events in the future. So here's a little info about my friend Ramon.

"I am Ramon Torres, an aspiring photographer, videographer, and animator. I became interested in photography and videography when my sister needed photos and short videos for a website she was creating. In the beginning, I just pointed the camera and pressed the button. I knew nothing about lighting or editing. I’ve worked very hard and my skills have improved greatly since then.

I confess that I am  perfectionist. Some these days say that being a perfectionist is a bad thing because never being able to achieve perfection creates fear and performance anxiety. I don’t think being a perfectionist is about achieving perfection, rather it is about pursuing excellence. I am always looking to improve my knowledge and skills so I can achieve a result that pleases my clients. I believe in putting as much work into getting to know my clients, what they want me to achieve, and planning the shots as I do with execution and editing."

Gotta keep those bows fluffed properly!!

So so far so good weather is on point, photographer in place, table is all set up. I wasn't able to see a lot of the festival which was fine. My first priority is to manning my table and giving guests that awesome Silver Griffon Designs customer service!!

All in all is was a great day lots of folks out enjoying themselves, the food and awesome music. I would give this show a thumbs up and will put it on the craft show calendar for next year.
